“Tim Heidecker gives a compulsively fascinating performance.” – Variety

“Transgressively brilliant.” – Village Voice

With dialogue largely improvised from a 20-page outline (under the close guidance of director Rick Alverson) Tim Heidecker’s role in The Comedy, this blackest of satires was essential.  He inhabits the character of Swanson, one of the most complex antiheroes in recent cinema; it’s the kind of performance, and film, that isn’t just provocative, but fascinating — and it certainly raised lots of questions that we wanted to ask him.  We’re very excited that, following our opening-night screening of “The Comedy” this Friday night (November 9th), Heidecker joins the Cinefamily live on stage for a candid conversation about what how he approached this fascinating characterization, the thin line between comedy and tragedy, and why this film has been so difficult for some to view.

And, particularly exciting, for those of you unable to make it to our sold-out opening-night show, The Cinefamily will live-stream our entire in-depth Q&A online here, starting at approx. 9:00pm (PST.)
